Off on holiday!!

Well technically I have been on holiday since the weekend, but now I really am off on holiday to visit my family & friends in the UK!!
The rabbit is settled with my boyfriends parents, the poor tomato plants have been left to die since we have no one to water them ¬†ūüôĀ
I have just about managed to squeeze shut my suitcase (why did I think I could manage 2 weeks away with just a carry on suitcase?!)
I have a list with lots of ticks (but also lots of non ticks), but that can wait until I am home again.

It has been nearly a whole year since I saw my family so am very happy to be going to visit them this summer, as such I promised not to bring any sewing with me and that I would not blog and instead enjoy and spend as much time as possible having fun with everyone! So I will see you all when I am back (4th August) and my Etsy shop will also re-open then with a couple of new surprises being added later that week.

Enjoy your summer everyone!!

Ooh goodies!

The other week I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on the Monster and Me. When the parcel arrived I had rip into it and just look at all the goodies!!

I really love the strawberry dust pan!!

Also I promised last week to tell you how my trial of printing onto fabric with my computer printer went. Well it started well, stuck the fabric to the paper easily, and it went through the printer and the ink seemed to be staying well and not smudging. The paper would feed into my printer fine, but coming out it kept squishing up at the front which made the ink smudge all nasty and the fabric get ruined ūüôĀ I eventually gave up after 5 sheets, but maybe if I get a new printer I will give it another try because it did look promising! Oh well!

Pizza slice tutorial

I do like pizza, perhaps I like it a little too much even! So the other night while we were eating pizza I decided I would make it my next felt food tutorial! (When my boyfriend came down he thought it was a real pizza slice at first!)
Instead of a tutorial to make a whole pizza (since there are plenty of them out there) I am just doing single pizza slices.

You will need:

Step 1
Print off the pattern above and cut out 2 base pieces from beige felt, 1 sauce piece from red felt, 1 cheese piece from yellow felt and topping pieces depending on what pizza you like best!
Step 2
Take one piece of pizza base and sew on the sauce felt piece using a simple running stitch.
(The sauce piece wants to be placed as close to the bottom point as possible.)
Step 3
Now sew the cheese felt piece on top of the sauce, again keeping it close to the bottom point as possible.
Step 4
I decided to make a pepperoni pizza, but you can pick different toppings. Sew your toppings onto the pizza, and don’t be afraid to cut them a bit smaller as if they are over the edge and got cut off while slicing up the pizza.
Step 5
Now take your other pizza base felt piece and pin it to the back of the piece we just sewed everything onto.
Sew along the sewing line that was marked on the pattern (this should run right long the edge of the pizza sauce).
Step 6
I prefer Italian style pizza so wanted to make my pizza thin crusted, so only put toy stuffing into the crust area. But if you like you can add a layer of batting to the pizza to make it more plump.
Sew around the edge of the pizza and leave a small gap in the crust area (the top edge section we made in the last step). Add stuffing to the crust area before sewing around the rest of the pizza slice.
Your pizza slice is now finished and ready to (play) eat! If you make 7 more slices then you can have a whole pizza to enjoy! And you can always experiment with different toppings!

Baby girl gift

One of my friends this week had a lovely little baby girl! So happy for her and so much pinkness around is great!
I wanted to make a doll for her so went out and bought some new fabric and also made the face and legs/arms from fleece instead of cotton so the doll would be very soft and squishy!

I am off now to deliver this little doll to her new friend! Enjoy your weekend!

Eeee!!! Moo cards arrived!!

A couple of weeks ago I ordered some Moo cards. After all the great things I heard about them I have been so excited to get my order! (and relieved they arrived today before my holiday!)

Here are the cards

I picked 10 designs for my 100 mini cards. I love how the snake plushie one looks! And also my fruit salad.

And I also ordered a sticker book! I just love how it turned out! I¬†don’t¬†know what to use them on first!!!
