Christmas tutorial advent – Fabric flower

Here is another flower to go with the one from yesteday!
You will need:

  • Green felt
  • Pretty fabric
  • A wooden stick or metal wire
  • Sewing needle & thread (or sewing machine)
  • Scissors
  • Pattern
  1. Print off and cut out the pattern above.
  2. Take your fabric and fold it in half (right sides together) and draw around the petal 6 times. Sew around the petals .
  3. Cut out your sewn petals, clip the corners and turn right way out.
  4. Cut 2 circles from your green felt and one long rectangle (as long as your wooden stick and 2cm wide).
  5. Taking your wooden stick or your metal wire wrap the long rectangle of green felt around it and do a running stitch around the edges (with extra stitch’s at the end so the stick doesn’t come out).
  6. Take one of the felt circles and pin the 6 flower petals around it, spacing them equally. Then pin the felt “stem” coming out the bottom.
  7. Pin the other circle on top and stitch around the edge of the circle securing all the flower petals and the stem between the two circles. You could make a whole bunch of these and put them in a vase!
