Strawberry keychain tutorial

To go with the launch of my strawberry tote bag pattern here is a free tutorial to make the cute little strawberry keychain that goes with it!

Cut out a 10cm diamater circle from red fabric or felt. The circle can be a bit bigger or small if you like.
Cut the circle in half.

Decorate one side of the semi circle with beads, or stitches in white/yellow. Try to make them stretch out from the center bottom edge.

Fold the semi circle in half, decorated sides together, and sew along the edge bottom edge. Turn right way out.

Step 4.
Do a loose running stitch around the top edge of the semi circle. Put a little toy stuffing inside the strawberry and pull the running stitch tight, closing off the top of the strawberry. Knot it tightly.

Cut a circle from green felt, it should be about 4cm in diameter, but does not need to be perfect. Rough up the edges to look like a strawberry top. Cut a small slit in the center of the felt.

Cut 10cm length of green ribbon and knot the two ends together. Slip the loop through the hole in the strawberry top and do a few stitches to secure the knot underneath the green felt.

Using a hot glue gun, dab the green felt with glue, around the edge and in the center. Press the green on top of the strawberry. Let it cool down, and add a keyring to the ribbon loop.

Cuteness! Simple to make, and so yummy!

  1. I absolutely love this strawberry:) I found it through
I am starting my own linky party this Tuesday! It’s the first one. I would love it if you would participate! It’s called $10 Tuesdays and it’s for things that cost less than $10 and take 20-30 mins (ish) to complete. I love inexpensive and quick projects and I’m guessing others will too 😉 Thanks so much for considering.

  2. Simple, cute, easy to make and artistic key chain, I love strawberry and pinkish color. Maybe, Ill try to make something like this when I got time; this can be a good pass time if I have nothing to do during my day off. I like the idea and the thought of being artistic.
