One thing I miss from the UK are Cadbury chocolate mini rolls! So chocolatey and soft spongy goodness… hmmm… hungry now!
Welll today I am showing you how to make your own mini chocolate roll from felt!
You will need:
- Chocolate felt (I used milk chocolate felt, it is the perfect colour for these!)
- White wool
- Toy stuffing
- Pattern
- Glue
- scissors, needle & thread etc.
Then to make the spiral take your glue and draw a spiral with the glue on the felt and press the wool down into the glue. Repeat for the other end piece and let them dry before you carry on.
(If you do not want to use glue you can stitch the wool down in a spiral shape, or you could paint it on using white acrylic paint.)
Step 3
Take the side piece of felt, and with the longest edge start sewing it to one of the end pieces using a simple whip stitch.
Repeat on the other end of the side piece with the other end piece.
Step 4
Now sew the base piece of felt to the opening left on the swiss mini roll. Before you sew all the way around stuff in some toy stuffing and make it nice and squishy.
And your done!
You can also make it with light brown felt and red wool for a vanilla and strawberry swiss roll, or as Emma from sew sweet suggested add a little felt holly leaf to the top for a Christmas Yule log!
How cute! I would love it if you would link up to my Tuesday Confessional link party going on now: http://www.craftyconfessions.com/2011/07/tuesday-confessional-link-up-2.html. I hope to see you soon!
